Alpha’s Female Player of the Week: Ashtyn Hiron from Down Under

Following her six-point scoring effort last Friday, Australian native Ashtyn Hiron has been given the honor of being Alpha Lacrosse’s 3rd ever Player of the Week (thanks once again to the Twitter poll from our friends at Inside Lacrosse).

The Jacksonville University standout lead her team to a narrow 17-16 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes, grabbing 11 draw controls in the process.

Currently in her junior season, Hiron is coming off an ASUN First Team All-Conference berth. In 2017, she got season highs in goals, assists, ground balls, and draw controls.

It’s no surprise that Ashtyn is dominating on the collegiate level. She previously represented Australia’s World Cup team, finishing the FILA World Cup with 13 goals and seven assists.

We’ll see if she can continue to hold her own in the Atlantic Sun Conference. We’re guessing she will.
